Franchisee survey underway
Written on the 30 November 2009 by Fiona Taylor
When franchise relationships breakdown, either party involved can make life ‘hell-on-earth’ for the other and adversely affect the entire franchise business network.
In extreme cases it can lead to ‘brand terrorism’, legal action or worse, and not only affects the bottomline for franchisor and franchisee, but the well-being of both parties, and field support staff caught in between.
So how do you keep your franchise business network happy? That’s what Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence Deputy Director Dr Scott Weaven is working on.
Dr Weaven says the Centre has already done a degree of research into franchise conflict, and in addition to other projects currently underway, is looking into franchisee personality impacts.
“There is emerging research suggesting our personalities actually influence how we build and maintain relationships, both in business and personal situations,” Dr Weaven said.
“By surveying franchisees we’re hoping to identify what types of characteristics are related to building lasting franchise relationships.
“The project will help determine what individual franchisees require in terms of training and support.
“And what types of franchisees need additional or targeted help and support from their franchisors.”
This project will help franchisors with recruitment and support systems and help maximise franchisee profitability and quality of experience, while minimising conflict in franchise businesses.
To get involved franchisees complete a short survey online by clicking here. All responses are anonymous and confidential, and participants go in the draw to win an Apple iPhone 3G (8GB) – in time for Christmas.
To be in the draw for the iPhone participants need to complete the franchisee survey by the end of the week (December 6, 2009) and results will be released early in the New Year. (The iPhone will be drawn on December 7, 2009).
If you have any questions contact us.
If you know any franchisees who would like to be involved and haven’t yet responded, please forward. The franchisee survey link is www.surveymonkey.com/s/DFNXPKB
