Mo-ment of reliefWritten on the 1st of December 2009 by Fiona Taylor
The Lenny’s Mo Bros raised a total of $2,530 and the Gloria Jean’s Coffees Team (pictured) weren’t far behind with $1,190. The official total of all funds raised is still being tallied but is anticipated to be in excess of the $8 million that was raised by Mo Bros last year. Lenny’s Mo Bros Team Captain Mark Bennett said the team’s total included $1000 donated by Lenard’s suppliers. “The team is completely stoked as we’ve beaten our last year’s fundraising total,” Mark said. “It’s all been for a great cause and the spin-off benefit is we’ve all had a good laugh along the way. “Public recognition of Movember is growing every year, and you can be sure Lenny’s Mo Bros will be back bigger and better in 2010.” Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men, which is now in its sixth year. During Movember, each Mo Bro effectively becomes a walking billboard for men’s health and, via their Mo, raises essential funds and awareness for Movember’s men’s health partners – The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue – the national depression initiative.
