The 24th Annual International Society of Franchising Conference will be held at the Australian School of Business, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia on June 8 & 9, 2010.
The conference provides a forum for scholarly research that enhances the knowledge of franchising.
The best ongoing research will be presented and manuscrpits ranging from early stage research to those currently under review at journals are welcomed.
Papers presented at past conferences have spanned a broad spectrum of approaches to franchising research and has ranged from the conceptual to the heavily empirical; from the purely theoretical to that with a practitioner emphasis.
The Conference is a multi-disciplinary forum so papers are invited from all disciplines on any topic related to franchising. Particularly relevant disciplines include:
Best Paper Awards will be announced at the Conference.
If your paper is accepted, you are expected to attend the conference and present it. Formal ISOF 2010 Call for Papers and Key Dates document can be accessed here.
Authors should indicate their intention to present a paper or case by completing and returning the response form by October 1, 2009.
Papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word along with the appropriate ISOF title page to:
Papers will be converted to Adobe format (pdf files) prior to being added to a CD for reviewers and conference attendees.
Each paper should meet the following criteria:
To implement these criteria, your manuscript will be read by at least one person from your discipline who will be asked to evaluate it in light of the existing literature of your field.
'Readability' and, for papers reporting empirical research, 'full disclosure' will be equally important issues. We urge you to remember participants of this conference and the readers of its proceedings are interested in franchising but are not necessarily knowledgeable of the conceptual frameworks or terminology of your discipline.
Panel submissions are encouraged and should include a one-page paper with the title, purpose, panel moderator(s), and panel expert’s names and titles. Panels will be allotted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. Brief biographies of panel members must be included. It is suggested the panels consist of no more than three or four experts and two moderators.
