Michael Sherlock

Position: Former Brumby's CEO and Consultant

Michael is a high profile business leader who transformed an ailing set of bakery shops in the late 1990s to position Brumby’s as the second-largest bakery franchise system in Australasia with over 320 bakeries by 2007. Under Michael’s leadership, Brumby’s share price rose from 56c to $3.40 in just over 3 years.

In July 2007, Michael resigned as Managing Director of Brumby’s after ASX-listed company Retail Food Group (RFG) purchased Brumby’s for $46 million.

Michael has appeared on current affairs, news and breakfast television programs as well as being featured in all leading newspapers and magazines in Australia and New Zealand on issues such as his innovative management techniques, business strategy, franchising and more.

Currently Michael is a sought-after public speaker with a quirky sense of humour. He sits on a number of advisory boards as a strategist and mentor, drawing on his vast experience in retail and franchising management at the top level. He is also an adjunct Professor with the Griffith Business School and a member of the Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence’s Advisory Board.

Alan Anderson

Position: Senior Business Strategist

Alan is a highly experienced Senior Business Strategist. During his lengthy career Alan held senior roles such as Executive Director at chartered accounting and advisory firm BDO for more than 11 years. While working at BDO Alan undertook the consultancy with Brumby’s Bakeries.

Alan still does some consulting, mainly in the areas of strategic planning, human resources and meeting and conference facilitation. Alan’s clients include several iconic, award winning companies and he is also a coach and confidante to several CEOs.

Parking is available at South Bank Parklands underground car park as well as some on Street parking in South Brisbane. An earlybird parking discount is available at SBP if you park before 9.30am on Level B2 and exit before 6.00pm you'll receive the early bird rate of $15 for the full day.
